Additionally to the infrastructure, the Municipality has a completely developed water management system, sewerage and a gasline-network along with a telecommunication-infrastructure.
The Municipality of Kanjiža spreads on a territory of 400 km2 with a population of 27.510 citizens. The Municipality, as a border micro region in North Vojvodina and on the right bank of the River Tisa, includes thirteen settlements: Horgoš, Male Pijace, Martonoš, Mali Pesak, Orom, Doline, Novo Selo, Totovo Selo, Trešnjevac, Adorjan, Velebit, Vojovda Zimonjić, with additional granges.
The centre of the Municipality is Kanjiža, where third of the Municipality's population lives, has become a central actor of regional importance. The adjacency of the river Tisa and the border crossing at Horgoš only contribute to this role of Kanjiža.
Beneath the top soil surface of the Municipality's fertile land and sand there lie rich deposits of oil, gas, clay and medicinal thermal water.
The town, in its vicinity, offers also an opportunity for unloading and loading of bulk cargo. |
